Hemorrhagic & Ischemic Stroke: Diagnosis & Rehabilitation
Overview
Hemorrhagic Stroke occurs due to bleeding in the brain caused by the rupture of cerebral blood vessels.
Ischemic Stroke (Brain Infarction) results from brain tissue damage due to a disruption in blood supply caused by vessel blockage.
The success of rehabilitation and recovery depends on the extent of brain damage. In most cases, functional recovery occurs within 3–6 months, though long-term rehabilitation may be required. The final prognosis is assessed based on rehabilitation progress and neurological improvement.
Rehabilitation & Recovery
Stroke rehabilitation focuses on restoring motor function, improving independence, and preventing complications. Methods include:
Physical Therapy – Restores muscle strength, coordination, and mobility.
Occupational Therapy – Helps regain daily life skills such as dressing, eating, and writing.
Speech & Cognitive Therapy – Supports recovery in cases of speech or cognitive impairments.
Complementary & Oriental Medicine – Acupuncture, herbal medicine, and alternative therapies to support neurological healing.
