Teeth Whitening: Procedure & Cost

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure designed to restore the natural brightness of teeth by removing stains and discoloration. Common causes of enamel discoloration include smoking, coffee, tea, wine, and other pigmented foods.

Whitening Procedure Steps

  1. Scaling & Cleaning – Removal of plaque and tartar to ensure an even whitening effect.

  2. Gum Protection – Application of a protective substance to shield the gums from irritation.

  3. Application of Whitening Agent – A gel containing hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide is applied to the tooth surface.

  4. Activation – The whitening agent is activated using a specialized light to enhance the bleaching effect.

The results typically last between 3 to 5 years, depending on lifestyle habits and oral hygiene.
